Build Be Honest 2022 Website
Be Honest is an annually held event for PSU Graphic Design students to connect with design professionals and get in-depth and honest feedback on their work. My primary role was that of web team lead and a contributor to the motion team.
Wireframing
As we were finding our way back into an in-person world, I was tasked with building a website to showcase our first in person Be Honest in two years! Building off the last two year's Be Honest website's, I began the design process by wireframing in Figma and reviewing with my group teammates. We settled on a simpler execution featuring a small about section followed by a short bio and image of our Kemeny lecturer, Adam Garcia.
Buildout
Once it came time to build the site, I worked based off of the wireframes, brand guide and assets created by our art directors. Thus a soft-opening landing page was born! The purpose of pushing out this version of the website was to provide a promotional touch point for atendees and to give another avenue for students to sign up to table at the event.
As we neared the event I was given a team to lead in the completion of the website. My role was to direct my teammates in entering the collected names and grade ranks of this years participating students names and formatting them onto the final version of the website, to be launched May 6th.
I created an ad-hoc tutorial to help my teammates get up to speed on the Webflow tool and was in charge of keeping the higher level goals of our team in mind as we neared our deadline.
As we neared our hard launch deadline, our Executive Producer Sean Schumacher came in and worked on the final design of our website.
Outcome
Final website featuring our Kemeny lecturer Adam Garcia as well as all of Be Honest’s student participants!
